Hey everyone this is ghost lead, from Ghost Operators
airsoft team and community. So here it is guys our first review on the Ghost
Operators blog which is super awesome. Now to be 100 percent fair with everyone this
is my personal review, so it will be with Pro’s and Con’s from that of my personal
experience, and usage of it, you all have been given notice and have been warned. Now let’s
review!

One thing I really like about this plate carrier guys, is the fact that it has a lot of MOLLE, which is great to put anything you want on the plate carrier to fit the play style that anyone wants to go for. Also another thing I did like is that it feels like a one size fits all at first when I got it back in 2009 it fit very snug, it was very comfortable for me. Even now a bit taller and a bit bigger now, it still fits very snug and comfortable, even after the six year of having had this plate carrier and still holds strong, which is actually surprising and awesome.
Another thing I was quite impressed with, which a lot of players probably do or don't do at Milsim games or long airsoft operations is; the way the plate carrier feels when you carry a ruck sack or assault pack whether that be the ALICE PACK ruck, or Assault Pack the US Army issues out soldiers. All in which feel very comfortable with a lot of weight, which is great especially when you are playing the role of a support gunner or a medic in big Milsim events.

Now to start off with some points on this plate carrier, the cons of all things from what I see. The major one I think and see, that I do not like on the plate carrier is the clips on the shoulder straps that holds the plate carrier together, reason why I say this they feel really cheap, and could break if the clip was to hit a hard surface or just snaps after long use, I have seen another player when I played in Arizona when a guy dropped down and landed with his back hitting the trench causing his clip to crack and snap unfortunately.
View of the Shoulder Strap Clips ( They were both in tape to keep the clip together if it was to ever break or crack.) |
Also to add, the material in certain areas, feel rough and hard on the outer shell of the plate carrier. Other areas like the drag handle if pulled with a bit of force, the thing would just rip off. In my experience I have accidently ripped the drag handle during a game in Arizona.
As we come to the end here are the Pro's and Con's:
Pro's:
- A lot of MOLLE webbing
- Comfortable no matter if you are small or big.
- Comfortable while carrying a ruck sack regardless if the ruck weighs 30 pounds or less.
- Affordable
Con's:
- Shoulder Strap Clips feel cheap and possibly break
- Material feels rough and hard on the otter shell of the plate carrier
- Drag Handle is pointless especially if you were to pull on it and the handle was to rip off.
Conclusion:
For the Condor Outdoor Cummerbund Plate Carrier as a starter piece, I would highly recommend to anyone. Why, well one its affordable you can't really beat that as a starter, another you could probably find this plate carrier anywhere, whether that be Airsoft GI, Evike Airsoft, a military surplus store or a pawn shop of some sort and probably cheaper then what I got it for back in 2009, you'd be surprised. With that being said you get what you pay for, because its not all 100% awesome pawsome guys, there will come a time if you were to get this, it will possible break or rip after the constant abuse you put this piece of equipment through. But nevertheless if this piece of equipment get you out there to play then ...why not... and if your waiting and saving for a better quality plate carrier, then all the power to you guys, go out an get the LBX, TAG, LBT or whatever plate carrier you wanna get. Get what makes you happy.
This is Ghost Lead, out.
P.S. Hope you enjoyed this Personal Gear Review it took awhile and I'm sorry I just wanted to be sure it was done as right as it could be. I'm all for criticism guys just be constructive about it guys. Thank you

Think this load out is a little old now
ReplyDeleteIndeed, its pretty old I mean yes. But this review is for anyone who find this specific item since by now its probably cheap and not expensive at all especially how old it is. But I also recommend this because of how long I have had this and how long I have been using this kit and the wear and tear that has been given to this plate carrier, and its still going strong.
